AI crawler checker FAQ
It reads a website's public robots.txt file and applies its user-agent rules to known AI search, assistant, and model-training crawlers.
The check covers OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, Claude-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, GPTBot, ClaudeBot, CCBot, and Google-Extended, alongside their published robots.txt names.
Not necessarily. GPTBot is associated with model training, while OAI-SearchBot and ChatGPT-User serve different search and user-requested access. Each user-agent should be reviewed separately.
Robots.txt does not restrict public crawling when the file is absent. Other controls, authentication, response status, and page-level directives may still affect access.
